Corona : conundrum which will make us human again

After being in work from home environment for more than a week and doing a google search about the corona situation more times than washing my hands, my mind started introspecting if I am getting depressed by the situation of lockdown. As an introvert, it's great that now I don't need to create fake excuses for not going out. But thinking about the safety of all around us has definitely made us more worried and every google search is making us go deeper into our depression.

Introspecting more about the condition, my mind actually started thinking about some of the positive impacts it may have on us. Newton did the greatest discoveries in a similar situation when the Great Plague hit London. Can corona also give many talented people a break from office/college slavery and idiotic rat race we are in and discover/invent something which can change the way we are currently? Let's hope so!

When I was a kid, I never took any of the healthy habits seriously, may it be a good diet, being hydrated, personal cleanliness or good physical activity. But the current situation is definitely improving the current kid generation and will register in there mind the importance of good health over anything else. We have so many diseases spreading in India every day, from swine-flu or cholera which we have never taken seriously. Yes, they are also killing people but not globally every year and maybe that's why they are not taken seriously. The current measures everyone is taking is also going to slow down other diseases which is again a good side-effect of the current situation and I hope corona registers some of the basic healthy stuff which we should continue to do for a long time

As if this was not enough,I even looked at my sharemarket investment last week, to increase depression. I hope when we recover, the market comes back cleaner and grows in the right direction. Hopefully, people now start investing in firms that are involved in creating useful products for the community and we don't waste our money and effort on unnecessary things. Is it going to give our money and effort a chance to define what is 'necessary'? Can we at least now see more investment in health?

Lastly the free time everyone is getting can be a boon to think about what they really want? Do the things which we are not able to do due to the rat-race. Read books, watch good movies, have a good conversation with your loved ones, sleep well and yes...wash your hands :)
